The sun sets on our first full week at the cDc
(taken out of the laundry room window)
Today marks our first full week of living at the Casa De Crap - and boy, what a week it has been.
Eventually, after James had to make another small repair, we were able to turn the water back on and not have it leak! I immediately took a shower.
Things we can do now that we have water:
- Take showers
- Flush toilets
- Wash hands
- Laundry
- Run the dishwasher
- Finish painting
- Wash my apple in the morning when I'm packing my lunch
- Fill Sophie's waterbowl in the sink in the basement instead of getting it from a jug in the fridge
- Finish unpacking without having to stress over said leak, thus leading to a more organized house which can soon have guests visit!
The proverbial "they" always say that things happen in threes... but it has seemed in the past week that it has been multiples of threes! We've already had a switch replaced and a connection fixed on our furnace (thank goodness for the home warranty!), found a problem with the master shower, and then, of course, tore up our carpet and had our wall cut into in the name of faulty plumbing.
James figured that since we'd surely made it through (at least) 3 things, he should buy a lottery ticket. He is happy to report that he won $15.
Here's to hoping our second week at the cDc is much more enjoyable :o)
