Sophie is starting to feel much more comfortable in her new home. Unfortunately with the rush of the move in one weekend to get out of our townhouse before our lease was up, we weren't able to introduce Sophie properly so that she wouldn't have to make a huge adjustment.
At first, she had her room in the basement, and was very happy to be there. When she wasn't in her room, she was hanging out in the basement with us (while we finished first floor painting). Then, Watergate 2009 happened, and she was forced to move out of her room (The night we discovered the other big leak, Sophie started barking from her crate... we think she may have felt water drops from the ceiling... oops!).
After this change, Sophie had two accidents, on the basement stairs none-the-less. Oh really Sophie... THE STAIRS?!?! Isn't that a little awkward? It seemed to be retaliation for leaving her in the basement when she could hear us on the first floor, but who knows. She wouldn't respond when we asked her for answers :o)
Then, she was allowed up on the first floor once we finished painting. This really made Sophie happy, and she ran all around all happy prancy! However, Sophie is "bell trained" and rings a bell to let us know when she needs to go outside, and instead of her doing this, we had just been taking her out when we knew enough time had lapsed...
Finally, a few days after her first floor explorations, Sophie rang her bell!! Progress :o)
I'd say she's starting to feel pretty comfortable... how about you?!?!
